A life-long Midwesterner, Whitney studied architecture in Minneapolis, earning an M. Arch from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she worked in Chicago on large projects in the United Arab Emirates and China. Eventually, she found herself in her hometown of Sioux Falls, SD where she taught architectural history at South Dakota State University, started a non-profit dedicated to researching sustainable building materials, and worked on numerous energy-efficient, and often LEED Certified, projects on the Northern Plains. In October 2012, she packed up her feline buddies, Motley and Lester, and moved to Denver to join Davis Partnership.
Whitney enjoys dabbling in graphic and website design, volunteers for the local Architecture for Humanity Chapter and, beyond architecture, heads to the mountains as often as possible.
