High-end residential design maximizes development potential of property
Holland Development, LLC selected Davis Partnership Architects for the development of two city blocks of luxury apartments in the emerging Belmar neighborhood. On one block, a four-story 150-unit structure surrounds a two-story parking garage. This property holds the leasing office and amenity areas for the entire development, including an outdoor pool and deck space. This “wrap” development features mezzanine-style units on the top floor that take advantage of views of the mountains and an adjacent park while increasing the height of the building so it relates in scale to a taller residential development to the south. The other block hosts seventy apartments with “tuck-under” parking on the ground floor. These units are composed of four three-story buildings that hold between eleven and twenty-seven units. Many of the ground floor units feature a direct connection with the garage. These buildings have the scale and feel of row houses, creating visual continuity with the townhome development to the north.
On both blocks, the scale and texture of the facades speak to the residential nature of this development. The project was reviewed and commended by the Belmar Architectural Control Committee and the City of Lakewood. Construction was completed in October 2015.
