St. Vincent Hospital

controlling costs, enhancing current service lines, and addressing the community's needs

With the growing uncertainty of the amount of reimbursable medical care and types of insurance each patient will bring in, the hospital is focusing on controlling costs, enhancing its current service lines, and addressing the community's needs. To help with these concerns, Davis Partnership designed a patient care unit upgrade that will be coupled with clinic space. By integrating this clinic, the hospital is able to serve the patients as they utilize more outpatient services in their medical care, and a new replacement hospital improves the community perception. By providing a healthy and healing environment that embraces LEED principles, the hospital aims to optimize its energy performance, encourage patient health and recovery, increase employees' health and wellness, reduce medication errors, and boost profit per bed.

To address the community's current and future healthcare needs, the new replacement hospital has Emergency Services with two trauma bays and overnight patient care service with two inpatient beds that can increase to four beds by converting adjacent rooms to inpatient rooms. The building also has additional capability for expansion that will allow services to be brought into the community as care needs develop.
