SCL Health Medical Group set out to start developing clinical standards in 2018. The initial focus was placed on primary care clinics, as this is a large area of growth and market sector within the system. The vision for these clinics was to develop a standardized clinic planning template which optimizes planning and creates best practices to enable speed to market. This standard across the SCL Health system would have the same look and feel, the ability to adapt and grow with future needs and be competitive against industry benchmarks.

Denver West and Cherry Creek are 8 provider primary care clinics, Superior with an additional 4 provider OBGYN. Each clinic has 20 exam rooms, procedure room, flexible care team and provider stations to allow for collaboration and an open workflow, staff lockers and break rooms, blood draw and lab space, smaller private spaces for consultations and future teleconferencing needs, along with support spaces needed for a function clinic.

These clinics have provided great feedback for the standards, which acts as a living document that will continue to evolve as we learn and refine them based on practical applications within the clinics.
