Southwest Health System is a private non-profit organization that operates Southwest Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed acute care critical access hospital located in Cortez, Colorado.
Building on the master plan efforts for Southwest Memorial Hospital, Southwest Health System and Montezuma County Health District engaged Davis Partnership Architects to design a Patient Wing & Lobby expansion to improve the patient experience and support the overall growth of the campus.
Davis Partnership Architects, consulting engineers, and Nunn Construction worked closely with Southwest Health System, Montezuma County Health District and their key stakeholders to collectively pass a tax bill, to plan and facilitate community and user engagement and execute the first of two phases of the hospital expansion. This included the expansion of the patient wing & lobby and a new medical office building. While the medical office building housed the outpatient services, the patient wing & lobby revitalized the inpatient services, technology and enhanced the brand aesthetic for the hospital.
